Sunrisers Hyderabad outplayed Gujarat Lions in all three departments batting, bowling and fielding to register second consecutive win in the Vivo IPL 2017. Sunrisers had defeated Bangalore in their first match.

Sunrisers won the toss and elected to field first. Young Afghan Rashid Khan went through the top order of Gujarat as he picked up wickets of Suresh Raina, Brendon McCullum and Aaron Finch. Jason Roy at the top scored 31 off 21 balls. Some fightback shown by Dinesh Karthik(30) and Dwayne Smith(37) as Gujarat posted a total of 135 from 20 overs. Rashid finished with the figures of 19-3. Bhuvneswor picked up 2 wickets while Ashish Nehra bagged one.

In reply, David Warner was brilliant at the top for SRH as he remained unbeaten on 76. Shikhar Dhawan got out cheaply for 9 while Moises Henriques was notout on 52 as Hyderabad completed an easy 9 wickets victory.

Rashid Khan was named Man of the Match for his match winning bowling performance.
