Nepal register consolation win against Hongkong

Nepal defeat Hong Kong by 7 wickets to register a consolation win in the ongoing ACC Emerging Teams Cup at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Bangladesh.

Nepal elected to bowl first after winning the toss and restricted Hong Kong to 214 runs in 50 overs. Anshuman Rath was the top scorer for Hong Kong with 51 runs. Avinash Karn picked up 3 wickets including 2 consecutive wickets in final overs of the first inning. Avinash finished with the figures of 29-3 from his 5 overs. 2 wickets each shared by Bhuwan Karki, Sushan Bhari and Gyanendra Malla while Sandeep got one wicket.

In reply, the skipper Gyanendra Malla led from the front as he scored 70 runs before getting bowled. Dipendra Singh Airee continued his brilliant form as he completed yet another half century. Playing only his fifth international match, Dipendra finished the match with a six and remained unbeaten on 60. Sharad Veswakar scored a quick 55 with 3 sixes and 3 fours. Gyanendra Malla was adjugded Man of the Match for his allround performance with both bat and ball.
