Nepal Blind Cricket Team To Play World Cup Starting From Today

Cricket Association of Blind Nepal (CABN) had organized a farewell for Nepali Team in Kathmandu on Friday i.e 27 January, 2017. Nepali team leaved for taking part in the 2nd T-20 Blind Cricket World Cup in India on Saturday i.e 28th January, 2017. The host country will be India for the T-20 Blind World Cup will and rest 9 teams are Bangladesh, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, West Indies, Sri Lanka and Nepal. These teams will face each other in the stadiums of Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Banglore. Nepal will play their 1st match against Australia on 31st January, 2017 i.e Today.

The training camp was organized in Pokhara and 35 players from all over the nation practiced under the Blind Cricket World Cup winning Indian coach Suju Kumar. The top 14 has been selected as per the performance in selection matches which was held at Pulchowk Engineering College Ground in Lalitpur from December 6th to December 11th, 2016.

A team of 14-member has been has been announced and team will be captained by Kirtan Shrestha Duwal. The other members are Sunil Subedi Chhetri, Abdul Jahid, Jiwan Gurung, Bikram Bahadur Rana, Bharat Chaulagain, Sunil Rana, Badri Chaulagain, Sunil Thapa Magar, Shankar regmi, Padam Badela, Ramesh Bahadur Baniya, Shobh Ram Dangi and Durga Dutta Poudel. Rijan Praju is the coach and Niroj Giri is team manager. The 14-member squad has been categorized as B1, B2 and B3.

B1 Members (Totally Blind Players):Bikram Bahadur Rana, Sunil Subedi Chhetri, Jiwan Gurung, Abdul Jahid and Bharat Chaulagain.

B2 Members (Low Vision Players): Durga Dutta Poudel, Shobh Ram Dangi, Sunil Rana and Badri Chaulagain.

B3 Members (Low Vision Players with ability to see certain distance): Kirtan Shrestha Duwal (Skipper), Sunil Thapa Magar, Ramesh Bahadur Baniya, Shankar Regmi and Padam Badela.
