England score record breaking 498 against Netherlands

England posted a record breaking 498/4 against Netherlands in first ODI at Amstelveen with three of their batsmen completing centuries.

The previous world record for highest score in an ODI innings was also in the name of England. England had scored 481 runs for the loss of 6 wickets against Australia in 2018. England has broken its own record.

Opener Jason Roy was dismissed cheaply for just 1 run. Phil Salt and David Malan put on 222 runs for the second wicket. Salt scored 122 runs from 93 balls while Malan scored 125 runs from 109 balls.

Jos Buttler was even more brutal to the bowlers as he smashed unbeaten 162 runs from just 70 balls at an amazing strike rate of 231.42. Buttler hit 7 fours and 14 sixes in his innings.

Liam Livingstone remained unbeaten on 22 ball 66 which included 6 fours and 6 sixes.
