Esports, or electronic sports, have experienced an incredible surge in popularity worldwide over the past decade. This global phenomenon has also made its mark in Nepal, where gaming competitions and events are flourishing.

Achievements

Nepal has made significant strides in the esports arena, particularly in games like PUBG Mobile whereas in other games they are yet to set their mark. Several Nepali teams and players have achieved notable successes in various international tournaments, highlighting the country's growing prominence in the esports community.

DRS Gaming: One of Nepal's most successful esports teams, DRS Gaming has achieved impressive results in multiple PUBG Mobile tournaments. They secured 2nd place in the PUBG Mobile Pro League – South Asia Season 2, 1st place in Season 3, and 2nd place in the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2022, winning a substantial prize pool of $292,000.

Horaa Esports: This team has shown excellent performance in regional competitions. They finished 2nd in the PMCO South Asia 2023, earning $3,500, and won the Nepal European League 2023? (PUBG MOBILE NEPAL).

T2K Esports (Trained to Kill): T2K made history by becoming the first Nepali team to reach the grand finals of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) in 2022, where they finished 3rd in their group. This achievement significantly boosted their reputation in the international esports community.

Current Competition - Esports

Currently, PMSL CSA (PUBG Mobile Super League - Central and South Asia) 2024 is going on and its first week has been completed in which the performance of nepali team is exceptional. DRS gaming is leading the 20 teams table with 204 points where as Horaa Esports is on 8th place with 140 points. This shows the growth and dominance of nepali teams in esports.

The rise of esports in Nepal presents both opportunities and challenges for the gaming community.
