DPL postponed for ACC Emerging Cup
March 15, 2017 | SportsGuff Team 1.3K ReadsDhangadhi Cricket Academy has postponed the Sagarmatha Cement Dhangadhi Premier League after the dates clashed with Nepali national cricket team’s participation in the ACC Emerging Teams Cup. Emerging Teams Cup is all set to begin from March 25 to April 5 in Bangladesh.
DPL was scheduled to begin from March 18. Since, the captains of the six teams participating in DPL are national players and hence would be joining the national team for the emerging cup, the first city-based auction cricket tournament of Nepal has been postponed.
According to DCA President Subash Shahi, the DPL will now be organised from April 9-22 at the same venue.
“The Emerging Teams Cup was not in the scene while we decided the date of DPL. The tournament was announced by ACC after we finalized the date of DPL,” said Dhangadhi Cricket Academy's President Subash Shahi. He added “We are organizing this tournament for the improvement of domestic tournament and not for profit. So, re-scheduling the tournament won't be a big issue for us.”
