Rajat Patidar player profile
Rajat Patidar grabbed attention when he scored an unbeaten 112 off 54 balls for Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2022 eliminator. Having joined as a replacement player, he finished the season as RCB's third-highest run-scorer, with a tally of 333 at a strike rate of 152.75.
Patidar had started his first-class career in 2015-16. Playing for Madhya Pradesh, he scored a hundred on debut and another in the next match. But his most important century in the format came against Mumbai in the final of the 2022 Ranji Trophy. It helped Madhya Pradesh clinch the title after a gap of 69 years.
He made his ODI debut at the age of 30, against South Africa in late 2023 when a second-string Indian side toured there. A Test debut followed soon after, against England in Visakhapatnam. But Patidar had a wretched run in the series, scoring only 63 runs in six innings.
