Srilanka defeat South Africa in 2nd T20

Srilanka defeated South Africa by 3 wickets in the 2nd T20 at Johanesburg. The Srilankan skipper Angelo Mathews tookhis team to victory with an unbeaten half century in a low scoring game.

Having won the toss, South Africa decided to bat first and could manage 113/10 in 19.3 overs. HG Kuhn scored 29(20) while skipper Behardien contributed 27(22) runs in South African innings. No other significant contribution from other batsmen in the first innings for South Africa. Lakshan Sandakan picked up 4 wickets for Srilanka while Isuru Udana chipped in with 3 wickets.

In reply, Niroshan Dickwella and Dinesh Chandimal scored 22 runs each for Srilanka. But the match winning knock came from the bat of captain Angelo Mathews as he completed his half century and finished the match with a six. Despite being injured with seven balls to go in the chase, Mathews made sure that he finish the match as he struck 2 consecutive sixes in last over of the match. Mathews remained not out on 54(50) with 1 four and 3 sixes.
