Srilanka defeat Australia by 26 runs, level series 1-1

Australia lose to Srilanka by 26 runs in the second ODI (D/L Method). With the win, Srilanka have leveled the series 1-1.

Chasing a target of 216 for victory, Australia were allout for 189 in 37.1 overs. Australian opener David Warner top-scored with 37 off 51 balls which included five fours. His opening partner Finch was out for 14 runs. Both the openers were bowled by spinner Dhananjay de Silva.

Steve Smith (28), Travis Head (23), Marnus Labussen (18) and Alex Carey (15) didn't tourble the scorers much. Glenn Maxwell was dismissed for 30 off 25 balls with five boundaries. Sri Lanka's Chamika Karunaratne took 3 wickets for 47 runs in 7 overs. Dushmantha Chamira, Dhananjay de Silva and Dunith Velalge picked up 2 wickets each.

Earlier, Srilanka lost the toss and were invited to bat first at the International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele. Sri Lanka lost nine wickets in 47.4 overs and scored 220 runs. Wicketkeeper batsman Kushal Mendis top-scored with 36 off 41 balls with two fours and a six.

Dhananjay de Silva and captain Dasun Shanka contributed 34 runs each. Australia's Pat Cummins took 4 wickets for 35 runs in 8.4 overs.

The third ODI will be played on Sunday.
