Perth Scorchers beat Sydney Sixers in the final of Big Bash League 2017 to bag the title for the third time. Scorchers registered a comfortable 9 wicket victory in the final at WACA to lift BBL. The Scorchers now have three titles from six BBL seasons, making them the most-successful side in the competition's history.
Perth Scorchers chased down the target of 142 in 15.5 overs with 9 wickets in hand. Opener Michael Klinger's 71(49) set the tone for the chase as Klinger and Sam Whiteman put on 75 runs for the first wicket. Whiteman got out for 41 while Ian Bell remained notout on 31(25). Earlier, Perth Scorchers won the toss and invited Sixers to bat first. Sydney Sixers never really got going . Bresnan picked up 3 wickets but was on the expensive side. Johnson and Turner shared a wicket each.
Jhye Richardson was named Man of the Match for his bowling performance while Chris Lynn was awarded as Player of the Series. Lynn smassed 309 runs off 174 balls in his five matches, smashing a competition-high 26 sixes.
