In the 7th match of the VIVO Indian Premier League 2017 between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai the Delhi boy Nitish Rana scored a brilliant half-century of just 29 balls to help his side scalp the crucial win by 4 wickets with 1 ball remaining.

Earlier, Manish Pandey's brilliant batting helped Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) post a formidable total of 178 runs. Pandey remained unbeaten at 81 runs in 47 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes. The wonderful start by the openers Gautam Gambhir and Chris Lynn was not capitalized by the KKR middle order batsman. Gautam Gambhir (19), Chris Lynn (32), Robin Uthappa (4), Yusuf Pathan (6), Surya Kumar Yadav (17) were the cheap contributers for Kolkata.

For Mumbai Indians, Kurnal Pandya took 3 wickets. Lasith Maliga took 2 wickets and Mitchell McClenaghan and Jasprit Bumrah shared 1 wicket each.

Mumbai were off to a very bright side but lost the plot in the middle overs. KKR spinners were simply brilliant to keep a check on Mumbai's run rate and build the pressure on them. But the duo of Nitish Rana and Hardik Pandya, in the end, proved too good for the visitors. Mumbai at one point needed 49 runs from the last 3 overs. But Pandy and Rana's brilliance smoothly took Mumbai Indians to a brilliant win and their first points in this season.

For KKR, Ankit Rajpoot took 3 wickets. Chris Woakes, Sunil Narine and Kuldeep Yadav took 1 wicket each.

Mumbai Indians: 180/6 in 19.5 overs (Nitish Rana 50, Parthiv Patel 30)
