New Zealand level up the series
October 26, 2016 | SportsGuff Team 620 ReadsThe kiwis managed to defend 260 against India in a cracker of a game in fourth ODI at Ranchi.On batting first,New Zealand managed to score 260 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.MJ Guptill and TWM Latham started off well for the kiwis as they two put on a partnership of 96 runs from just 93 balls.The middle order made some odds 30's and 40's while there was nothing much from the lower order.MJ Guptill was the stand-out batsmen for the kiwis as he scored 72 runs from 84 balls.Amit Mishra bowled pretty well as he took 2 wickets while UT Yadav,DS Kulkarni,HH Pandya and AR Patel took a wicket each.In reply,India started off poorly losing Rohit Sharma in 4.1 overs.Virat Kohli and AM Rahane batted well and they put on a partnership of 79 runs.Virat got out in the 19th over which was a big set back for India.Soon after Virat wicket even Rahane got out scoring a descent half century.The middle order could not do much for the Indians but the lower order gave some hope for the Indians.But,even some good knocks from AR Patel,DS Kulkarni was not enough to chase down 260 runs and India was short of 19 runs in the end.TG Southee bowled extremely well as he took 3 wickets n gave only 40 runs in 9 over.TA Boult and JDS Neesham also managed to take 2 wickets each.
Martin Guptill was adjusted the man of the match for his opening knock of 72 runs from 84 balls.
By Winning the fourth ODI,New Zealand has level up the series 2-2 against India and the series decider will be played at Visakhapatnam on Oct 29.
