Nepal start qualifiers with a win over Singapore

Nepal defeated Singapore by 4 wickets in the first match of the U19 World Cup Asia Qualifer. Nepal chased down a target of 74 runs with 4 wickets remaining.

Nepal won the toss and invited the host team to bat first. Singapore was allout for 73 runs from 29 overs. Skipper Sandip Lamichhane lead from the front with the ball as he bagged five wickets to his name. Sandip finished with the figures of 5-21 from 8 overs.Shahab Alam picked up 3 wickets while Kishore Mahato got 2 wickets.

Chasing a low total, Nepal didn't started well either. Both the openers Sandip Sunar and Aasif Sheikh were back in the pavilion with just 9 runs in the board. Pranit Thapa Magar was the top scorer for Nepal with a 26 ball 23. Anil Shah contributed 19 runs as Nepal met the target in 17.3 overs losing 6 wickets.
