The third edition of Lanka Premier League is going to be held from July 31 to August 21, 2022. The tournament will be featuring 5 teams and the matches will be played across 3 grounds namely RPICS, Colombo, and the MRICS, Hambantota.

Srilanka Cricket hasn't yet released official schedule of the tournament. However, the initial matches are much likely to be held in Colombo before shifting to Hambantota.

The chances of this tournament was in doubt looking at the unfavorable political and economic circumstances of Srilanka. Amidst these circumstances, Australia are currently touring Srilanka and this might have played a part in the chances of Lanka Premier League.
