With the return of James Anderson, England bowling attack looked quite strong.

On winning the toss, Virat Kohli elected to bat first.

England started off brillantly with Broad removing KL Rahul for a duck. Then, it was the turn of James Anderson to remove another Indian opener Murali Vijay for just 20 runs. India was in trouble quite early in the game at 22/2 but it was CA Pujara and Virat Kohli who put on a partnership of 226 runs bringing India back to the game. The return of James Anderson was very much valueable for England as he took three big wickets.
