The 39 year old veteran has done it again becoming only the fourth player ever to hit five straight County Champ tons and the first since Mike Hussey in 2003. Sanga notched scores of 136, 105, 114 and 120 in his four previous trips to the middle in the County Championship. The left-handed top order batsman joined Surrey in 2015 for 2 years contract and this classy left hander is setting up the standards very high for other batsman in county championship.

Sangakkara's former national teammate, current Sri Lanka skipper Angelo Mathews, wasn't surprised by the veteran batsman's latest feat, and expected more records to come from his bat before the season is out.

"He's just a freak, He keeps scoring hundreds and hundred," Mathews said after Friday's defeat to Australia in their Champions Trophy warm-up.
