EPL: Biratnagar and Pokhara victorious in day 5
December 22, 2017 | SportsGuff Team 2.2K ReadsPokhara Rhinos defeated Kathmandu Kings XI by 6 wickets while Biratnagar Warriors outplayed Chitwan Tigers by 71 runs in the fifth day of the ongoing Everest Premier League(EPL) on Friday.
Israrullah was the star in Rhino's win over Kathmandu in the first match of the day. Chasing a target of 99 runs,Israrullah scored an unbeaten 48 ball 45 with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Israrullah added 38 runs for the first wicket with Sunil Dhamala (20). Kathmand in the first innings finished on 98/8 from 20 overs. Sagar Pun was the top scorer for Kathmandu with 36 runs to his name. Bikram Sob, Shakti Gauchan and Susan Bhari picked up two wickets each while Israrullah and Taj Wali shared a wicket each.
Biratnagar Warriors completely outplayed Chitwan Tigers in the second match. Man of the Match Babar Hayat blasted 81 runs from 42 balls with 5 fours and 6 sixes. Anshuman Rath scored 41 runs while Aasif Sheikh contributed 21 runs for his side. Praveen Gupta was the pick of the bowlers as he finished with the figures of 5-23 from his 4 overs. Chitwan In reply never really got going. Chitwan kept on losing wickets regularly to finish on 103/10. Vetaran spinner Basant Regmi was the star with the ball for Biratnagar Warriors as he finished with the figures of 4-11.
