On Thursday of the 4th Test match between England and India at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai umpire Paul Reiffel was injured on the field. The accident happened in the post lunch session. Paul Reiffel was an former Australian fast bowler was umpiring at the square-leg before he was hit. A throw from Bhuvneshwar Kumar who was fielding at the boundary, hit the umpire Paul Reiffel head and he was fell on the ground. The umpire was at the moment has been seen by England Physio and then was taken off the field. The medical treatment was provided to umpire Paul in the dressing room and then was taken to the hospital for scans and treatment. The thired umpire Marias Erasmus was the replacement for Paul Reiffel on the field. Shamsuddin was the reserve umpire and taken the position of third umpire after Erasmus joined the field.
